STD Testing & Treatment

STD testing is crucial to having a healthy sex life. Fortunately, testing is fast, private, and quite easy to do. If you have never been tested before, we recommend getting tested for the most common STDs: HIV, HPV, herpes, hepatitis A/B/C, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. If you have no symptoms, you should still get tested for HIV, HPV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis at least once per year.

Testing Locations

It's easy to find places to get cheap or free STD testing. Here are some resources that may be available near you:

  • Centro de Salud Municipal

Your municipo probably has a Centro de Salud that is open to everyone with a CURP. Many services are free, and those that aren't free are still very cheap. While they may not have all STD tests, they should at least have HIV testing, and very often that testing is free, completely anonymous, and takes only five minutes.

  • IMSS

  • Salud Digna

With more than 60 clinics in 19 states, there may be a Salud Digna clinic near you.

Getting Birth Control

There are many different types of birth control and not all are equal. You can learn more about some of the
different options on our Education page. Of course, for any further questions, you should ask your doctor or gynecologist.

  • Centro de Salud Municipal

Centro de Salud will provide free birth control for anyone with a CURP without the need for insurance. They provide the following types of birth control for free: condoms, IUD, implant, injection, patch, and pills.
